Red Wines

Cabernet Sauvignon:

A Cabernet Sauvignon is easily the most popular red varietal.  With vibrant aromas of black cherries, black currents, black plums, black olives, and eucalyptus in a young wine, and hints of cedar and cigar box bouquet as it ages, Cabernet Sauvignon produces reliable, even predictable, full-bodied wine, with high degrees of both tannins and acidity.  We have Cabernets from California and Washington ranging from 15.00 to 125.00

Merlot:

The Merlot grape is bigger than the Cabernet Sauvignon grape and has a lot more juice in proportion to its skin surface area.  It is a thinner-skinned grape, with lower tannins and lower acid levels.  Merlot wines feature aromas and flavors of ripe, sweet chocolate-covered black cherries tinged with oaky vanilla overtones, complete with silky, volumptuous texture.  We have Merlots from California and Washington that are priced between $15 and $45.

Pinot Noir:

The Pinot Noir grape can be a difficult grape to grow successfully.  It is a thin-skinned grape that traditionally needs a long, cool growing season.  Entry level Pinot Noir can be charmingly in its simplicity, tasting of strawberries, cranberries and red rasberries.  As you move up in quality, wines become more complex, with mix of spiced strawberries and black cherries, and more acidity on the palate.  The most complex Pinot Noirs demonstrate aromas and tastes of both red and black fruits, with earth-bound aromas of mushrooms, leather, charred wood, smoke and moist soil.  Our Pinot Noirs come from Oregon and California and range from $16 to $58.

Zinfandel:

Zinfandel is often thought of as the California grape. The Zinfandel grape thrives on a climate with hot days and cool nights.  The best examples of Zinfandel- deep, dark, rich earthy red wine.  Depending on the style of the finished wine, Zinfandel can exhibit a wide variety of aromas: red fruits in lighter wines, dried black fruits in a full-bodied version; a hint of black pepper in young Zinfandel, with dark chocolate in a mature, Port-style Zinfandel.  All of our Zinfandels are grown in California and range from $13 to $28.

We also carry Petite Sirah, Syrah, Malbec, Sangiovese, Tempranillo and Red Blend wines.
