Ingredients:

2 8oz filets
Garlic salt
Black pepper
2 Tbsp butter

Directions:

Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Heat cast iron skillet in 400 degree oven. Season filets liberally with garlic salt and pepper. Let stand at room temperature while skillet preheats. Remove skillet from oven and place on medium high burner. Melt butter in skillet. Sear steaks for 1 minute on all 4 sides of the steak. Return the skillet to the oven and cook for 6 minutes (medium rare) or 8 minutes (medium). Remove the steaks from the skillet immediately and allow the steaks to rest on a cutting board for 5 minutes before serving.

Cooking times will vary with the thickness of the steaks.
